If you are a website owner, you know the importance of having a secure connection between your origin server and visitors. Installing a Cloudflare Origin Server Certificate on your cPanel account is one way to achieve this security. This certificate ensures that the data transmitted between your server and Cloudflare is encrypted, protecting it from potential cybercriminals.
This article will teach you everything you need to know to install and activate the Cloudflare Origin Server Certificate on your cPanel account.
Step 1: Go to the Origin Server of your domain’s SSL/TLS section.
Step 2: Press the Create Certificate button.
Step 3: Modify the expiration time of your certificate. It is recommended you select a duration longer than 1 year. Otherwise, you may need to frequently change your SSL certificate on Nginx Proxy Manager.
Step 4: Leave this page alone. It will be used in step 7 and step 9.
Step 5: On your cPanel dashboard, select SSL/TLS under the Security section.
Step 6: Click Generate, view, upload or delete your private keys.
Step 7: Copy the Private key from Step 4 and paste it into the text box. Unlike Nginx Proxy Manager, no modification is needed. Press the Save button.
After refresh, a record of your uploaded private key will be displayed.
Step 8: Back to the SSL/TLS page. Select Generate, view, upload or delete SSL certificates.
Step 9: Copy the Origin Certificate from Step 4 and paste it into the text box.
A record of your uploaded certificate will be displayed after refreshing the page.
Step 10: Back to the SSL/TLS page. Select Manage SSL sites.
Step 11: Choose your domain and press Browse Certificates. Select the uploaded cert and then click Use Certificate.
Press the Install Certificate button when everything is ready.
If it shows SSL Host Successfully Installed, congratulations, your site has successfully configured with the Cloudflare Origin Certificate!
